 Career Exploration Minimize

To begin your steps to career success it is important to explore your opportunities and options.  This process involves three parts:  (1) self assessment to look at your career options in a holistic (whole-being) way; (2) major-decision-making to determine the good, bad and ugly involved with your career decision-making; and (3) the surveying of salaries and cost of living to determine your worth (value) for your future career.

Personal Assessment

Use this link to assess your interest, values, skills, behaviors and other parts of your holistic (whole-being) to help you in making your “major” decision and to better match yourself with occupations that match your personal self.  This in no way replaces one-on-one advising that you can receive in the Career and Graduate Development Center

Salary Surveys and Cost of Living

To get paid what your worth you need to know your value.  Use this link to research salary surveys related to your future career.  Job seekers looking to seek employment out of the area or out of state also need to review cost of living indexes to determine salaries needed to live comfortably outside of Austin.
